Workplace first aid requirements
In Portugal, workplace first aid is governed by Law No. 102/2009 of 10 September establishing the legal regime for the promotion of safety and health at work, transposing EU Framework Directive 89/391/EEC, administered by Authority for Working Conditions (Autoridade para as Condições do Trabalho, ACT) and Directorate-General of Health (DGS). Employers must ensure a trained first aider is available at all times.
